In just 26 days I will be on a plane en route to Indonesia!
It truly feels like time has flown by since I felt the Lord press on my heart to reach out to two missionaries last summer. Over that year I have watched as the excitement of spending time in Southeast Asia again has grown.
I specifically remember at the end of my time in the Philippines in early 2020 I said that I was "not made for this type of ministry" and I would never return to this part of the world. Low and behold, that is not what God had planned. This is the first time I will be traveling overseas since I spoke those words and I feel like there is so much beauty in the restoration that will come with me taking that step of faith.
I am positive there will be some sort of update in the future with the struggles that come with those lessons, but it will also be filled with the freedom that comes from surrender.

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of seeing Caron and Jorge, the two lovely people I will be staying with in person! They were visiting family back in Indiana and we snapped the "first of many" selfies (as shown to the right). These two are the most loving, caring, Jesus-loving people I know. I cannot wait to live life alongside them and to learn from them (and with them) during this unique moment in time.
I have officially met my goal of $4,000 and I am starting to make my packing list. Crazy things, but I bless the Lord through it all.
I am taking the next 26 days to focus on the Lord. I would love prayer as I lean into the gift of silence and solitude. I really want to have my heart and mind centered on God as I step into a busier time of school and ministry. That comes with spiritual battles, as I believe the enemy knows what I am about to do and will try his hardest to take me down. I am asking for prayer over anxiety and any sense of overthinking that may come. Prayer also over the moments I spend in silence with the Father, that I can hear His voice and the identity He is speaking over me.
Also, I have relaunched my storefront with a few new t-shirt designs. I would love it if you checked it out! Here is the link: https://www.bonfire.com/store/designed-by-aves/
One thing I am trying to do more is focus on enjoying the present moment. So, while i am so excited to get on my way, I also want to appreciate what is right in front of me. So enjoy some pictures of moments as of recently where I have been enjoying life.
Thanks so much for following me on this adventure of life.
Until next time,
Avery
